Water for Agriculture: Web Resources

Am happy to present a number of web resources that deal with a number of interest areas for EWUAP including agriculture, Irrigation, Water Management and Water Governancy. I will endovour to update this list from time to time so as to ensure that you are up to date. To open the website on a new window click the link given.

List

  1. The WCA infoNET information system is an Internet-based integrated information platform which merges high quality information resources and expertise allowing direct access to publications, documents, data, computer programs and discussion groups which provide a knowledge base, support and the necessary global platform for decisions on water conservation and use in agriculture.
  2. FAO Bibliography. This site contains a list of books and web resources dealing with several areas of agriculture, Water management and irrigation. The documents are available in English and French
  3. FAO’s AGRIS: AGRIS is the international information system for the agricultural sciences and technology, created in 1974, to facilitate information exchange and to bring together world literature dealing with all aspects of agriculture. AGRIS is a cooperative system in which participating countries input references to the literature produced within their boundaries and, in return, draw on the information provided by the other participants.   4. Agricultural Information Management Standards is a FAO initiative whose main objectives are to facilitate collaboration, partnership and networking among partners by promoting information exchange and knowledge sharing and to harmonize the decentralized efforts currently taking place in the development of methodologies, standards and applications for management of agricultural information systems; consequently, providing a ‘one-stop’ access to system designers and implementers.

Welcome to the EWUAP Network. The objective of this network is to link all stakeholders and researchers. The network provides a number of features including:

  • A Blog that allows researchers and stakeholders to discuss issues related to water harvesting, community managed irrigation and public private managed irrigation.
  • A commenting system that allows members to comment on issues raised.
  • An e-newsletter from the EWUAP website.

The network is hosted by the Efficient Water Water Use for agricultural production (EWUAP) project. It is not moderated, by it is only members who can write or comment. However, the EWUAP team comprising of the Lead Specialist and the IT Officer are always available to assist. You can reach us through:
